Our History
Yokohama Grace Bible Church (YGBC) is pastored by Scott & Naomi Douma. Pastor Scott was trained in the United States and was sent as a missionary from Grace Bible Church in Hawaii to Japan in 1981. He first served in Sapporo and also in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The Doumas were married in 1984 and then came to Yokohama in 1986 to plant the church. For the first 10 years YGBC rented public halls in the Kannai area and with slow but steady growth eventually moved into the Silk Center near Yamashita Park in 1996. The church continued to grow and in 2002 moved to our current location near Ishikawa-cho Station.
